Part of my Red and White don't make Pink series.This piece has beadwork beneath the surface of the paint. As a Métis woman, beadwork is an important part of my culture.We were known as the "Flower Beadwork People".

Sherry Leigh Williams-Métis Artist Sherry Leigh Williams is a multi-faceted artist, writer, singer and songwriter was born and raised in the foothill community of Shining Bank Alberta. Alberta born of Métis and Celtic roots Williams says this history, as well as a love of nature, colour and the delight in the muse, influences her work. Sherry is a multi-faceted artist, and works in many mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry making as well as a performing artist with her band Southbound and Friends. A deep love of the land, wildlife and horses informed her early works.
